This
is an opportunity to learn to throw pots on a wheel or construct ceramic
items in a picturesque studio attached to a Grade 2 listed building in
the Ham Stone Village of North Perrott, Somerset, UK
Enjoyable 2 and 3 day Weekend Residential
Pottery Courses with good food in a friendly atmosphere.
Beginners and potters with some previous experience can enjoy potting
in small groups of 3 or 4. Three day Raku weekends including throwing,
glazing and firing are available.
Tony Lean usually Raku fires the pots made by students on these Pottery
Courses as Raku firing is quicker and more exciting. This enables students
to produce glazed pots on these Weekend Pottery Courses, which they
can take home with them. Some very well made and artistic pots have
been produced and fired on these Pottery courses in only 2 days.
Some
examples of pots thrown and Raku fired by students on a recent three
day Weekend Pottery Residential Course. Each student took home
at least 6 fired pots, which were excellent, especially as they were
beginners.
